When we left home on May 17, 2023 it was a beautiful sunny day but only 11C.

We rode north to New Liskeard/Dymond/Temiskaming Shores. Stayed at the Waterfront Inn, overlooking Lake Timiskaming. A 430km ride

They very kindly let us park the bikes near front door, that they would be under camera surveillance overnight.

Next morning was fresh but we had to get to Matagami! A 403 km ride.

We pulled out at 10:30, nice sunny morning and arrived 6 hours later

It is a nice little Bed and Breakfast at the far end of town, with the only motel in town having burnt down a few years ago the choices are limited! What is important is that we have a ensuite!

The next morning was drizzling and cool! BUT the radar showed the clouds were staying south and we are riding into clear skies! Important to be filled right up with gas, as the first station is 381 kms! Nancy’s bike has a range of about 340km, so we are carrying extra gas!

We made it to James Bay. After several hours of rain and cold, the temperature had dropped to 1 C.
